Smoking Rules

For the consideration of the entire law school community, please be aware of the following
smoking rules:

  • According to state law, if you must smoke, it must be at least 15 feet away from the building, even in inclement weather. The front steps of Swen Parson and the back of the building (Normal Road) by the steam vents are not 15 feet away.
  • Please use the urns for cigarette butts so we don’t have to sweep them up so frequently.
  • Please avoid smoking next to the southwest side of the building as the vents allow smoke to travel into the building. We are looking into possible solutions for reducing any smoke intake.
