Bar Loan Applications for December Graduates

December Graduates:
If you are planning on graduating in December and taking the February bar, bar loan applications are available online. Bar study loans are specifically designed for law students who are about to take the bar exam. A bar loan is a private loan, and a credit check will be performed as part of the application process. The loan helps finance bar exam costs, such as bar review course fees, bar exam deposits and fees, and living expenses.

If you have not borrowed the maximum amount of Federal Stafford Loans, you may want to use the balance to fund your bar exam preparation. Start your research on bar loans early, so that you get the best interest rate possible, because a bar loan cannot be consolidated with your current Stafford Loans.

Bar loans allow applicants to borrow a minimum of $1,000 and a maximum of $15,000. You may apply for a bar study loan through your current student loan lender, or you may use a completely different lender. All bar loan applications must be certified and signed by the University Student Financial Aid Office (Swen Parson Room 245). The following are some of the private lenders that are still providing bar loans. Research additional lenders and compare their interest rates before you sign:

Sallie Mae Law Student Loan Program
Graduate Leverage Bar Loan
Citibank Law Student Loans
Wells Fargo Bar Exam Loan
Fifth Third Bar Study Loan
PNC Bar Study Loan
