The Norman Amaker Midwest Public Interest Law and Social Justice Retreat

All NIU students are invited to apply to attend the Norman Amaker Midwest Public Interest Law and Social Justice Retreat to be held at the Resurrection Retreat Center in Woodstock, IL on March 14 to 16, 2014. The law school will pay the registration and expenses for two interested students to attend. The 2014 retreat theme is Turning Passion into Action: Leadership Training for the Twenty-First Century Social Justice Lawyer. The aim is to provide concrete examples of the advocacy tools students can employ in their career, in addition to discussing important topics in public interest law. Last year, approximately one hundred public interest-minded law students, representing fifteen law schools across the Midwest, attended the Amaker Retreat. Loyola expects to host over one hundred law students again this year.

To apply, or for more information, please contact Professor Schlam as soon as possible at lschlam@niu.edu. Applications are due by no later than Wednesday, February 26, at 4:00 p.m.
