Description: Writing competition addressing a topical issue of interest to the public contract and grant law community Requirements: Papers shall conform to the most recent edition of The Bluebook and the Public Contract Law Journal.

Boone County Bar Association Scholarship
Description: Scholarship is awarded to qualified applicants who resides in Boone County or resided in Boone County at the time of their high school graduation.
Requirements: Applicants must submit the application and one page essay on the following topic: “What do you think constitutes a good attorney, and what qualities do you possess that would make you a good attorney?”
Award: $1,000

Council of College and Military Educators Scholarship
Description: The Council of College and Military Educators (CCME) is pleased to offer $1000 scholarships each year to United States Service members (active duty/veterans) and spouses of Service members who are working towards the completion of higher education degrees.
Requirements: All applicants must submit the CCME Scholarship Application, transcripts, and two recommendation forms.

Katten's Minority Scholarship Program
Description: Scholarships will be awarded to students participating in the Katten Muchin Rosenman Summer Associate Program—one in the Chicago office and one in the New York office. The recipients will be selected based on several criteria, including superior academic achievement, leadership experience and personal qualities that reflect the potential for outstanding contributions to Katten and to the legal profession.
Requirements: 1Ls Only – Students are applying for the associate program. Students must submit their application, resume, transcript, and short essay.

AES Engineering Scholarship
Description: AES Engineering is pleased to be able to continue offering scholarships to motivated students to help in the furthering of their education.
Requirements: Students must submit an essay of between 500 and 1000 words in answer to the following question: “When you look back on your life in 30 years, what would it take for you to consider your life successful? What relationships or accomplishments will be important on this journey?”

International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Student Writing Competition
Description: The Competition seeks submissions of academic papers on the topic of international humanitarian law (IHL) from students currently enrolled in a law degree program in the United States or abroad. The purpose of the Competition is to enhance scholarship and deepen understanding among students in this important area of international law.
Requirements: Students must choose a legal topic related to this year’s theme, “The Intersection of International Humanitarian Law and Gender.” Papers without a direct focus on this theme will not be reviewed.
Award: $500 cash prize and a one-year ASIL student membership

Hellenic Bar Association of Illinois Scholarship
Description: Each year the Hellenic Bar Association of Illinois (“HBA”) offers scholarships to second and third year law students of Hellenic descent.
Requirements: 2Ls/3Ls Only - Applicant must be of Hellenic descent. Applicant either must be an Illinois resident or must be attending law school in Illinois. All applicants must submit: a completed application; a law school transcript; a current resume; a current photo; and be available for in-person interview in Chicago.
