Upcoming Scholarship Deadlines

Epstein Becker Green Health Law Writing Competition
Description: Epstein Becker Green is pleased to announce its 18th Annual Health Law Writing Competition. The competition is designed to encourage the preparation of scholarly papers on current topics of interest relating to health law.
Requirements: Entrants should take advantage of the fact that health law is a very broad and diverse field, encompassing aspects of almost every area of law. Papers may address any traditional area of the law as applied to health care (e.g., antitrust, tax, corporate) or areas of law unique to health care (e.g.,fraud and abuse, managed care, Medicare/Medicaid, clinical trials). Entries in the top 20 percent will be considered for publication in the Annals of Health Law, which is published by the Loyola University Chicago School of Law.
Award: 1st place- $4,000; 2nd place - $2,000; 3rd place- $500.

ABA Antitrust Writing Competition
Description: The ABA Antitrust Writing Competition encourages and rewards student written articles in the area of antitrust law, competition policy, and consumer protection law.
Requirements: Application and an article about any topic related to antitrust (20 – 30 pages in length). Article must have been published in ABA-accredited schools’ law reviews or journals between January 1, 2015 and March 31, 2065 in order to qualify. Each publication’s Editor-in-Chief may nominate one article for the award.
Award: $2,500 award and opportunity to attend Antitrust Section's Spring Meeting (April 6-8, 2016) in Washington, DC. The winner will receive an invitation to the Meeting, as well as transportation and accommodations (if living outside DC area).

American Indian Law Review Writing Competition
Description: Created by Jackson Lewis law firm and intended to honor the memory of one of the firm’s founders, Louis Jackson, the National Student Writing sponsor.
Requirements: Write an essay on any topic relating to the law governing the workplace, such as employment law, labor law, employee benefits, or employment discrimination. Also must have taken or are currently taking course work in employment or labor law.
Award: 1st place- $1,000 and publication in American Indian Law Review; 2nd place (2) - $1,000 and publication on the Institute for Law and the Workplace website.

ABA Forum on the Construction Industry Writing Competition
Description: After being revived a few years ago, the ABA Forum on the Construction Industry is pleased to introduce their Law Student Writing Competition. The competition is intended to heighten an interest in Construction law.
Requirements: Paper addressing a topical issue of interest to the construction industry. Any law student interested in participating in the competition can be assigned a competition mentor, with whom the student can bounce around ideas for relevant topics in construction law.
Award: $2,000

Coles-Cumberland Bar Association Scholarship
Description: Coles-Cumberland Bar Association has established this scholarship program to recognize and assist law students who have a close connection to the Coles Count and/or Cumberland County, Illinois communities. One or more scholarships will be awarded annually, based upon academic and extracurricular achievements, background and financial need.
Requirements: Application, Resume, Personal Statement, Two letters of recommendation, Transcripts.
Award: $1,000 (multiple awards available)
