Orientation 2.0 Required Sessions for all 1Ls

As part of the continuing orientation for NIU Law first-year students, 1Ls are required to attend two Wednesday afternoon sessions in the Riley Courtroom from 3:00 - 4:15 p.m.

The first, on August 24th, is the Valuing Diversity Workshop. It is focused on the value of diversity in the classroom and the profession, and on the role implicit bias plays in our everyday lives. The guest speaker will be Katrina Caldwell, Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs, Northern Illinois University.

The second on August 31st is called Money Matters. It is a seminar on financial responsibility during law school that is required by the American Bar Association.

Again, attendance is mandatory for all NIU Law 1L students for both of these sessions on August 24 and 31.
