Admiralty & Maritime Law Committee Law Student Writing Competition
Areas of Interest: Essays should address a recent development in admiralty and maritime law.
Criteria: Essays must not exceed 20 pages of double-spaced typed text
Award: $500 Prize; a $500 in reimbursement for attending the TIPS Spring Meeting in Boca Raton, FL or the ABA Annual Meeting in Boston, MA; and, publication in a 2014 edition of the Admiralty and Maritime Law Committee newsletter.

Donald O’Brien Scholarship Award
Description The Scholarship Award is in honor of Judge Donald E. O’Brien, Senior Judge, United States District Court for the Northern District of Iowa. The Scholarship is open to any first or second-year law student with ties to the State of Iowa who expresses an interest and intent to practice law in the area of civil rights, civil liberties, public interest or other areas benefiting society’s less fortunate.

Justinian Scholarship Program
Description: The DuPage County Chapter of the Justinian Society of Lawyers will, once again, be awarding a scholarship to a student of Italian extraction who has completed at least one semester of law school.
Requirements: Application, Brief personal statement, Letter of recommendation from a faculty member of the law school, Federal income tax return.
Award: Varies from $1,000 to $2,500
